iMac Server Setup

Detailed process of refurbishing a 2011 iMac into a Linux server, featuring hardware upgrades for improved performance and stability.

Original iMac

Opening the Display

Removed LCD Screen

Removing the HDD

Replacing HD with a 1 TB SSD

Removed the bottom of the pc to access the RAM

2 8GB RAM sticks to be added

New RAM added, now theres 24GB in total

Need to remove the motherboard to access the heatsink and CPU on the other side.

Removed the heatsink and old CPU

After I inserted an Intel i7-2600s CPU and applied new thermal paste I reattached the heatsink
